Smile Hello to all!

I am an Englishman currently staying in Lugunsk with friends. I have just discovered this website and thought that I would say "Hello!" to all its readers/ contributors. I do not know if there are other British people living here in Lugansk, but I did meet some French tourists recently and enjoyed the chance to speak French with them. Unfortunately, I cannot yet speak Ukranian or Russian, so shopping is quite a challenge!

Hello Hannia!

As I mentioned before I am staying with friends who live in Lugansk. I enjoy travelling and experiencing different cultures. I am also taking the opportunity to have some dental surgery completed here as I could not afford this treatment in my own country.
Where do you live and what nationality are you?
Best regards, Ted.

That is funny. I was about to ask you if you were having dental work done. May I ask how much work are you getting done and at what cost? I am Ukrainian-American, living in New York City.

Hello once again Hannia!
I have had six titanium implant posts put into my upper jaw. I also received "bone material" inserts and several injections. The cost so far is $2,250 USD. Because of my age (66 years) I will now have to wait six months for the jaw bone to bond with my implants. Then the abutments and tooth crowns will be fitted. I cannot remember the estimated price for this (subject to price rises and currency conditions at that time), but I know that based on present costs it's going to be less than half of the cost of having this work done in England. The dental surgeries here are as well equipped, if not better than some dental surgeries in the UK and I'm confident that I'm receiving competant service. With the help of my friends I did shop around to secure a good price. I think there my be a tendancy by some dentists to raise the price for foreigners which is understandable.
Best regards, Ted.

GG,

Here in NYC cost per implant w/o post and cap is appx $1500USD, depending on the surgeon of course. They also don't differentiate between upper and lower jaw here. That is a huge difference. I have three that I need to get done, but have put it off given the economy. This alternative is something that might be worthwhile exploring.
