Texting Ukraine from the UK

I have family in Ukraine that live in Ternopol and I have their mobile telephone number. Does anyone know what i need to key into my mobile so that I can text them from here?

I think it depends whether there molbile phone operator sinded a contract with yours or not.

Ah that would make sense. They seem to think I should be able to text them OK but I will have to see if that would be the cause of my problems. Does anyone else have any ideas?

you can go to kyivstar.net or www.umc.ua ,depening on their carriers, and both websites allow you to text message to any ukrainian number free.

If you are having problems texting Ukraine it maybe your provider in the UK who has a block on it. Check with them I text all over Ukraine regularly from the UK without any problems regardless of who the phone company is in Ukraine eg. Life, Kyivstar, UMC etc

not affiliated, just thought it was very useful..
