Kremenchuky / Kremenchuki
I am researching my Polish ancestors in Ukraine and was wondering if anyone has photos or information about the village Kremenchuki, located 5 kms from Antoniny and 7 kms from Starokonstantinov. There is nothing on the internet and I would love to see photos or know more information about the village.
Also, if anyone knows of a reputable researcher who may be able to obtain cemetary records/photos, please let me know. Thank you. |

TODAY Kremenchuki (Krzemienczuki was former Polish name until 1793) > Krasylivskij raion/district > Khmelnytska Oblast/Region.
Contact vadym@vadym.com , who is webmaster for Krasyliv, the district center town. He may be able to obtain some pictures for you and provide you w/village history??? More importantly there may be index card (KGB) records for Poles arrested and exiled to Siberia @ Khmelnytska Oblast Archives??? Archives closed for all of August for summer holiday. State Archive of Khmelnytskyi Oblast [Derzhavnyi arkhiv Khmelnytskoi oblasti] 99 Hrushevsky st., 29000 Khmelnytskyi Tel: (0382) 76-47-39, 79-27-74 Fax: (0382) 76-47-39 e-mail: dahmo@hm.ukrtel.net Working hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00-17:15; Friday: 8:00-16:00 PS> Additionally Archives above can probably steer you to where RC Metrykal Records for Kremenchuki are located. There is no pre-payment at Ukrainian Archives. You can communicate in English, but response will probably be in Ukrainian. |

Kremenchuki
Thank you Hannia. I will contact the webmaster for Krasyliv. I have emailed and sent letters to the State Archive of Khmelnytskyi Oblast several times over the past 4 years and have yet to get a response. I believe there was a fire in the archive 3 years ago and maybe that is the reason I have not yet heard anything. Maybe a phone call would be best at this point.
Thank you for the email of the webmaster. Also, another question. I recently discovered that my family moved from Kremenchuki to Irpien/Irpin in about 1936 and from Irpien my two g-grandfathers (in 1937 and 1941) were exiled to Siberia. Can you recommend an archive or somewhere I can find information pertaining to their arrests, as well as information (census records, etc.) of my family in this area? I believe Irpien is near Kijev. Best regards |
