Hello from Estonia. After my father died, my mother married second time. My stpefather was the one who grow me up and I loved my him. Unfurtunately my mother and he got devorced in 1993 and he went back to Ukraine. That time I was not home and I even couldnt say goodbye. Now I am trying to find him - address, phone etc. Can anybody help me? Is it possible to find him by name? Is there any phone book int he net? I know that 1993 he went back to Guljai Pole (sorry if i spell it wrong) (Запорожьkaja oblast)?
Many thanks in advance

Good Luck! Let us know how you make out.

(I'm sure Hannia can point you in the right direction.)

Hannia is on a distinguished road
Any idea which one it is?

There are three such same-name places in Ukraine:

Hulyaypole (district center town) > Hulyaypilskij raion/district > Zaporizka Oblast/Region

selo/village Gulyaypole > Katerynopilskij raion > Cherkaska Oblast

selo/village Gulyay-Pole > Krynychanskij raion > Dnipropetrovska Oblast

Hello from Ukraine ,Irents

Maybe your stepfather told you anything about his bithplace ? Hannia listed 3 town/villages as you see. The first one (in Zaporizhia oblast ) is well known as a center of anarchist movement during the civil war (1917-1921 ). Have you head anything about Makhno ? He was from that town. Traditionally people like to tell about him.

I live not very far from the village of Huliay Pole ( Krynychky region ). And I suppose you can speak Russian/Ukrainian. You can write to local governments in both villages and ask to help. For sure they know him in those quite small villages.

Hallo Hannia and Serhii, best regards from Estonia!

Thank you so much for your answers. I know that this place was in Zaporizka Oblast, so the town is then Hulyaypole. I am happy I am a step further. What should I do next, who should I contact next? Where could I find the contacts od the local goverment In Estonia we do have a a phonebook in the internet, do you have something similar in Ukraine, so I could find him maybe by name, or is Viktor Harlamov to common name (and too many people may have same name)?

Thank you!
Irents
