Hannia,
About a month ago I joined this forum. I introduced myself and posted some questions. Initially Hannia responded with a link to the Hamburg boat records which were awesome to have access to online. The records there are not comprehensive, as more information is being added all the time. This link proved to be helpful and I recommend it to others. I had a question regarding the Chrupuik line as I had hoped it could help me in clearing up a small delima. The census records in Saskatchewan for 1911 proved extremely helpful. Two others had a similar name that was spelt Czupiuk and Czupjuk. These census records proved to be quite helpful as I identified at least 75 families that I wanted more on. Being this census was 1911, many of my relatives were hear for some time and we were missing children that were born prior to 1911 and died after 1911. Also many that were still apart of their parents families as they didn't get married yet. Great link. The last suggestion I was given was to contact Vitalij and Ihor! I have to tell you what the results were. First off, remember I have not been a part of this board long and I am not a new duck to family research. Hannia suggested that I contact them. It took me about a week to compose a letter that would include the detail and family members I wanted more on. I sent the letter at about 11pm and by 11:05 Vitalij responded!! He was busy and would look further into what I needed in an up coming week. Sure enough in about a week Vitalij responded and asked a few more questions. Translated the email and fired it off to Ihor. A day later Ihor responded and asked a few more questions. By the end of the week, Ihor had made contact with an area my family originated and discovered no information was available. He then asked if I still wanted him to go search in person. I commented that I would still like him to look. That was Friday of last week. Monday Ihor traveled to my ancestral village and researched all day. By Tuesday I was told he had great success. By the end of the week they provided me with emails and downloadible files that provided me with almost all the missing information I needed in my quest to find my family. From their help I added as of today 40 direct line ancestors to my family and have access to current realitives in my ancestral villages in Ukraine. Family names we found information on: Czubak, Kisielowski, Zmud, Ochocki, Czajkowski, Kotdrysz, Tomkiwicz, Fedorczuk, Lewicki, Hominuik, Kurash, Sitarczuk, Tymkovych, Rybak, Oledsiuk, Jurkowski, Glebocki and many many others. Thanks Hannia. Czubak

Dear Czubak,
Very good your explanation about your success in finding your ancestors. It is an example to persist in our research. If possible, I would like to have answers for these questions : What is the e-mail address of Vitalij and Ihor? What is the costs for them do the research? Thanks, |

Crants.
I have already provided you w/Vitalij's E-Mail. Get a letter of inquiry out to the Odessa Oblast Archives as soon as possible. Ihor lives in Lviv and has family in Ternopil. Both these places are very far from Odessa Region. Follow the instructions I have provided you and hopefully you will not need a personal search in the village. If the time comes that you need to do a personal search, I know someone that takes Odessa vacations during summer. |
