hello everyone can anyone help me find my father and family
my father is called franiciszek (franek) Baner, born 1923 in Lviv ukraine, he was stationed with the army in driffield camp yorkshire in 1946,repatriated through Morpeth in Scotland,i do not know where to start and would
be glad of any help,or suggestions,thanx.

Was he Polish or German?

He was stationed with the army in Driffield Camp, Yorkshire in 1946 and repatriated through Morpeth in Scotland.

What army??? Was he a Pole attached to the RAF??? There was a POW camp in Yorkshire 1946???

How did you lose Father? I am not clear what you would like to accomplish.

If he was attached to any of the Polish armed forces in the UK during WW2 then they will have records for him. If so then they should have his date of birth, place of birth and his parents names. You will need proof of parentage to get this info from the relevant MoD department.
