I’m researching grandfather side from the village of Kudrynce Borshchivi District and wondering If anyone knows of the available records for that village. My grandfather was Fredrick Wasyliw, he left the Ukraine ca. 1910 for Canada. He was Greek Catholic.

WASYLCIW

I HAVE WASYCIW'S IN MY FAMILY AND HAVE SEARCHED AND HAVE NO FREDRICKS. DO YOU KNOW HIS PARENTS NAMES? THE BORSHCHEV RECORDS HAVE MANY WASYLCIW'S IN THEM BUT WE WOULD NEED TO KNOW WHO HIS PARENTS WERE, IF HE HAD BROTHERS OR SISTERS, AND ANYTHING ELSE.

I HAVE MANY OF THE RECORDS AND COULD SEARCH FOR YOU, HOWEVER I NEED MORE TO GO OFF OF.

A CZUBAK

YOUR VILLAGE IS IN THE FAR SOUTH END OF THE BORSHCHEV DISTRICT.

I HAVE MANY OF THE RECORDS FROM BORSHCHEV BUT FARTHER NORTH. I COULD SEARCH FOR YOU, HOWEVER I NEED MORE TO GO OFF OF.

From the church records of St Demetrious Greek Catholic church at Ukrainiana North Dakota my grandparents marriage records list him as Theodore Wasyliw , All other records of him he used the name Fredrick or Fred. My grandfather was born Feb. 28, 1891 His parents were Danyil and Eleana Wasyliw.
Fred died in 1945 at Grand Forks, North Dakota.

My grandmother Eudokia Stelmassczuk was born just south of there in the village Boryszkowce. I have some info on this side of my family. There were several families that immigrated from Boryszkowce from 1890's to 1910 and settled in Western North Dakota. Some of my other ancestral names werefrom that area Wozniak, Kordonowy, and Fedora.

Also I did come cross a Justina Wasyliw that had also been from the village of Kudrynce. I don't know if she was related.

Welcome Tea!

Petre (PETRO) Wasyliw and his sister, Nastazia (ANASTAZIA) were born in selo/village Holen > Kalushskij raion/district>
Ivano-Frankivska oblast/region. From 1919-1938 this region was part of Reconstituted Poland, which technically had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 yrs, From late 18th century to 1919 this region was a part of Galicia Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Selo Holen is a very old village, originally founded in 1393. Today it still exists w/population of 5,109.

Wasyliw/Vasyliv is a very common surname in Ukraine.

I am currently on my way home. Tomorrow I will run your surname thru the residential directory and see if there are any
surviving family still residing there.
