Good to hear that it is warmer topday, Serhii. We are warm too, but had a big blizzard today. Not a lot of snow, but lots of WIND!!

Thank you for the translation of my sentence, Serhii. I was going to try to write it myself but thought better of it. I hope to read and speak fluently one day.

Oh dear, You are going to have to translate your last sentence for me-I'm having a hard time understanding...

Dyakuyu i dobriyi vechir.

Congratulations , Christine ! Your Ukrainian has been improving. A few messages ago you wrote 'Dobre vachir ' (that was awful ) , but today you write 'Dyakuyu i dobriyi vechir' ( that's wonderful indeed ) Step by step...

I haven't received any answer, and I am going to call them on Monday ( after weekend ). 'Budemo dumaty dali.' - means exactly 'We will think further'. Maybe you receive something from Toronto till then.
It's warmer , but still cold here.
Do pobachennia,
Serhii

Thank you for the corrections and the compliment on improving.I have been watching what you write and taking mental notes!! I only wish I could learn it faster.

I hope to write a rough copy tonight, if I have time, of a letter to Lidia and Andriy. It seems I have so much to do this week, I have not had time to focus on that.

I hope your weather is better today,
i sontseh sviteh!

Do pobachennia.

Christine

Serhii,
I wrote a letter and sent it to Lidia Brygidyr on Saturday.
With any luck I will receive a reply. I assume it will take at least 5 days to get to Toronto, and a few more days to mull over if she should respond.

If and when I get a reply, I will let you know.

For now, take care and thanks again.

Well Serhii and Hannia,

I wrote and sent a letter to both Lydia Brygidyr and her son about the possibility of a family connection and have had no reply.

I would have liked them to contact me, but I suppose at least I tried.

I have had a series of disappointments and setbacks regarding my research and so have not done much this year. I have done other projects instead.

Perhaps the coming year will reveal something new!

In the meantime-have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Christine
