hello, I am French and same if I do not speak your language I come to ask for your assistance.
I seek the family of the descent of my grandmother. My grandfather had known her when it was in a stalag (stalag XVII A and stalag XVII B) and with the release he brought back her to France. They married and founded one family. My grandmother never spoke about her family in Poland and thus I come this this forum because she died and now she will not speak more. But I would like nevertheless to know if there would be of my maternal family. Le nom de famille était Iwaszczyszyn plus probable.
En 1915 il n'y avait aucune une telle entité géopolitique comme la Pologne. En regardant par quelques disques américains d'immigration, le nom de famille apparaît dans Galicie, qui lui ferait l'Ukraine ou le Se occidentale Pologne aujourd'hui. Le nom DOLYNA de village est tout à fait commun. La Grand-mère Était-elle LEMKO ? Avez-vous des documents comme un acte de naissance ? ____________________________________________________________________ The surname was more likely Iwaszczyszyn. In 1915 there was no such geopolitical entity as Poland. In looking through some American Immigration Records, the surname does show up in Galicia, which would make it Western Ukraine or SE Poland today. The village name DOLYNA is quite common. Was Grandmother LEMKO? Do you have any documents like a birth certificate?

tout d'abord je tenais à vous remercier pour votre réponse. Cela fait plaisir de voir que l'on est pas seul et qu'on peut nous aider. MERCI Sinon pour revenir à mon message j'ai trouvé "quelques informations" sur des papiers ayant appartenu à mon grand-père. Informations difficiles à mettre à profit lorsqu'on ne connaît rien du pays concerné. Il tenait à jour un journal quotidien et donc je sais qu'il était au stalag 17 A du 22.06.40 au 29.04.41. Par la suite il fut transferré au stalag 17 B à partir du 29.04.41 jusqu'à la libération des camps surement. Dans son journal quotidien il fait allusion à une ferme où il aurait travaillé les champs et la vigne, celle-ci ce situait dans la région de Znojmo. Ceci aux alentours des années 1943. Il mentionne le nom de Raûsembrûg. Il faut savoir que ma tante naquit le 29 juin 1944 (toujours dans la vallée de Znojmo). Il s'avererait peut-être et même surement qu'il rencontra ma grand-mère dans cette ferme. Cependant je ne sais pas si elle y était là pour travaillait de son propre grès, si c'était dans sa ferme parentale ou encore si elle était prisonnière et donc fesait du travail forcé (???). Je n'ai pas d'acte de naissance pour ma grand-mère, juste un extrait de naissance pour ma tante où il mentionne que sa mère (ma grand-mère) est née à Dolina en 1915. Cependant j'aurais d'autres informations plus civiles que j'ai relevé sur le livret et l'acte de mariage de mon grand-père avec ma grand-mère en France. Il était mentionné qu'elle était née à Weldiz (je ne sais pas si ca correspond avec Dolina, si c'est peut-être une province...) mais non en 1915 mais en 1916. Le grand-mère était de la région d'Ivano-Frankivska de l'Ukraine. Selo/village Weldiz (le nom polonais était Weldzirz) est un village très petit dans la zone de Dolyna.
Aujourd'hui Weldiz est trop petit pour avoir sa propre poste. Il partage un avec le selo Vyhoda. Le rouge tiennent le premier rôle des expositions vous endroit de Weldiz. encore une fois ce que vous faites pour moi est très gentil de votre part. Je vous en serais reconnaissant... Me concernant j'habite Lourdes, ville mondialement connue pour ses apparitions de la Vierge Marie à Bernadette Soubirous (connue des croyants et des pratiquants).
