Hi. Just new to this forum. Have listed surnames I am following up on.
Mochoruk and Melnychuk emmigrated to Canada in 1900 from Toporivtsi, the one Part of Ivano-Frank oblast. Babiuk and Hoiteniuc came early 1900's from Kitsman area, Cernowitz, and Heorhiichuk and Vehera are from the earlier generation from the same area. Basarabowicz and zarkoski are from Skalat region, possibly podwolozyska. Came in around 1901 to Canada. Have looked and found some lds records with basarabowicz but unable to get it translated. Not sure of the language it's in, or if the same family. Possibly someone out there is also doing geneaology for some of the same surnames. Or can assist in some way. Thanks. |

LDS has just released 10 microfilm reels of Orthodox Church records for birth, marriage and death for years 1784-1938 for Toporoutz / Toporauti / Toporivtsi. There are some gaps however and not every event is covered by the same span of time. Nonetheless - fabulous news!
Link to the page of 'title details' - Title details ('Metrical books ') Once on that page you can click on 'view film notes' to take you to the page with the microfilm number information you need to take to your nearest Family History Center. That information can be found by going to the familysearch.org homepage and clicking on 'Family History Centers". Best of luck, Karen p.s. My Stogrin/Stogryn family comes from this same village |
