Hello everyone, i am trying to trace any family members of my late grandfather Pawel Racibowski.I have managed to get his service record from the ministry of defence here in England and it states that he came from Osniki, Bialozurka, Krzemieniec, Wolyn, Poland. After a bit of research i think that its now named Bilozirka, Lanivt, Ternopil, Ukraine.I was wandering if it would be possible if someone could supply me with an address and postcode so that i could write to the village administrator regarding any surviving family members. many thanks.

Osniki was/is about 7 1/2 kilometers N of Bilozirka. It is a small hamlet w/o its own post ofc.

Today Osniki residents use the post ofc in Molotkiv.

You do have the correct geography and I will provide you w/address you need, but first tell me if Grandfather was Polish. If so, there are records in Poland, that may be helpful to your search.

Thank you very much for your quick reply, he was indeed Polish. His records state that after the Russians invaded he was conscripted to the Russian army and sent to Russia where he eventually escaped and enlisted in the Polish army.

Smile Address Request

Hi Hannia, sorry to bother you again with the same request but i would really appreciate the address of the village administrator/mayor of Osniki, Bilozirka, Ukraine so that i can write to them. Please forgive me for seeming pushy, but i seem very close to finding out details of my family history. Many thanks, Steve123.

Sorry that you got lost in the shuffle.

Today Osniki is a hamlet, sharing the post ofc in Molotkiv > Lanovetskij district > Ternopilska Region.

Address to Village Administrator below. Using Ukrainian for communication on local level is ideal. If you do not have a contact who can help w/translation, get in touch w/Vitalij's wife, Iryna. Very fair prices. vivandr@brandeis.edu
