Searching for family in the name of Palmerich. Originally from the village of Konigsau (Now Rivne). Many females were born in this family. I would like to find any relations still living in the Ukraine or other.
One Palmerich first name unknown married into the Miszkewyzc family. One son known Stefan Miszkewycz married
Stefania Irene Kizyma she was born Livw, Ukraine. Stefan and family migrated to the USA possibly in the 1950's.
If there are any Palmerich descendants or Palmerich connections, please contact.

Hannia is on a distinguished road

Stefan and family migrated to the USA possibly in the 1950's.

The immigration date would make them very likely post WW2 DP's (Displaced People) ???

Did they emigrate from Germany, Austria or France?

Upon immigration to USA, they had to have filled out extensive personal questionnaires, which detailed not only their German, etc. experience but also their Ukrainian metrykal information.

I suspect that Stefania was born in the Lviv Region, as opposed to Lviv, the Regional city center???

Stefania would have technically been born in Poland in 1920's.
1919-1939 (Interwar Yrs) Eastern Galicia/Halychyna was part of Poland.

<U S. Immigration & Naturalization Service (INS): The Einwanderungszentrale of Nazi Germany had the complete vital statistics of every foreigner entering Germany (name, age, place of original, date of entry and two photos (full face and profile). Using these files, the UNNRA and IRO (replacement organization for the UNNRA) categorized, provided medical exams, X-rays, TB and VD, mental and educational exams to determine who was eligible for immigration to the US and distant ports. (Genealogiest should get freedom of information form G639 from the Immigration & Nationalization Services for their records.) The INS will tell you what camp your parents were in.National Archives (NARA) in College Park, Maryland finding aid for displaced persons. I started to place the displaced persons files and the box numbers here, but it got too big. There are just too many files. It's fun just reading the list. Do a Find 'displaced persons'. But you may prefer the printer friendly version.>

Palmerich/Palmrich family name

Hello Hannia,
Many thanks for the information that you posted to help locate DP.Your are very informative. These people are not my parents, they just have a connection to the Palmerich family, but with whom I do not know. Konigsau(Rivne/Rowne) church records have not been filmed by the LDS. A data -base on CD is now available, unfortunately the dates finish at the time of my G Grandparents marriage, and hence no children were born or named in this database.
I am trying to locate siblings of my grandmother, searching and collecting data on all persons with the name or a link to Palmerich/Palmrich. Many of this family migrated to the USA in 1903-1921; some already moved from Konigsau to the Cz-Slovak region then on to the USA. Others if there are any remained in this region and married into Polish and Ukraine families.
The information, which I posted, was obtained from California death records at Rootsweb.com, and also obituary Daily Times. I was hoping that a possible connection to these families may read this web site.
Thank you so much again for your help.

Miszkewycz

I am grandson of Stephen and Stephania Miszkewycz. Both came over to USA in the 1950s. Both passed away, Stephan nearly 15 years ago, Stephania 4 years ago. They had a one son, Roman. Roman had two sons, Steve (myself), and Scott. Roman, Scott, and myself live in the United States. We have three men carrying the Miszkewycz surname on. Hope that helps.

Palmerich/Miskewycz

Hi Steve,
Thank you for posting a reply. I had written to Roman some time ago, don't know if the family ever received my letter?
Do you know much about your great Grandmother Palmrich?? I only have her surname, no first name or any other details. My grandma was also a Palmrich/Palmerich and I have been trying to locate family members. Many daughters were born and due to the change of name for marriage I am unable to trace them. I'm also in contact with another Palmrich from Poland who would dearly love to try and find her Aunts or cousins. Nothing more was heard from them during and after the war. If you would prefer to contact me private my address is Muehsam @ bigpond . com
Happy New Year
Jane
