I am presuming that this is your site.

Very nice!

Consider writing Village Administrator re surviving family. Listed is the most current address.
Needless to say, using Ukrainian for communication is ideal. I can recommend Vitalij's wife, Irena, for any translation work. vivandr@brandeis.edu Rates are very reasonable and there are many of our members that have used the service and can provide you w/references. There may also be someone at your local church that might help you w/translation???

Marko family from Chudlovo

My grandmother Julia Schlachta (spelling per Ellis Island) came over with a Katalin Schlachta (both from Chudlovo). Katalin listed she was going to live with an aunt Ludi Marko in Passaic NJ. On Julia's info it just listed she was going to live with "Uncle" (no name)in Passaic NJ. I have to believe both girls were going to live at the same place in Passaic NJ. Anyway..I have sent correspondence to Chudlovo (an address my Mother had in an old address book, annotated "first cousin", and I've received a reply! I just sent my newly found cousin a disposable camera with which he's to take pictures of his family, his home and the village of Chudlovo. I see you have elected not to receive email from this site. If you wish to see the pictures I receive from Chudlovo, please advise. My email address is bensings@mindspring.com.

Mary-Ann,

Does Chudlovo have its own Greek Catholic Church?

Yes, according to the photographer I sent to take pictures there, there is a Greek Catholic church. However, I don't know the name of the church.

Metrykal Records are difficult to come by from this Region.

I would not be surprised if the Church has kept its own copy of Church Registers??? These could provide you w/at least a two hundred yr old lineage.
