Thank you, but your apology is unnecessary. I hope your business trip went well.
Your feedback is always desired. With your help I have found wonderful background information on Halych (Galich) and would now love to find specific info on my family.
Are there records to access online or by mail (if that is safe) that might have names in it. I found a listing of businesses that existed in 1929. It listed every registered business and the owner. I wonder if there are other such records. I had an uncle in L'viv who owned a hotel there and would love to find out what I can. I also wish to learn all I can about my mother's family and any Jews still living in the Ostriv, Galich area.
Ihor will help, so I want to give him as much detailed information as possible so his search is more effective.

After accessing site, click ARCHIVE DATABASE. On right side of page, click SEARCH DATABASE. Click SOUNDEX & submit name of village/town. Click search.

The Kahal (Central Jewish Community Council) Records from Halicz/Galich would be valuable for your research. The Kahal oversaw most civil and all religious affairs. Ostrow was too small to have its own synagogue, so the filial synagogue was probably in Halicz.
