Hi!

My great-great granfather was first seen on the 18th Century in a place called Volodymir-Volinski. He stayed with the Zscsylecki family and married one of the daughters. I don't know when, where... or what happened from then, or even before that.

Could anybody help me? or make any suggestions?
I will appreciate it greatly.

Thank you and God Bless
Cristina

If GGGrandfather was born in 1800's, he was born in the 19th Century, not in the 18th Century.

Immigrants frequently referred to their district center as their place of origin for geographical reference, because their own villages were small. Volodymyr Volynskij was/still is a district center in the Vohlyn Region of today's Ukraine. It formerly, late 18th century (late 1700's) to 1919, belonged to Czarist Russia - region was called Vohlynskaya Guberniya. From 1919-1939 this region belonged to Poland. After WW2 it was part of Ukraine SSR, Soviet Union.

Volodymyr Volynskij was established in the 10th century & has some very rich ancient history.

Do you know GGGrandfather's given name and where he settled upon immigration?
What was the given name of the Zscsylecki daughter? Did they live in a fair size town or a village?

Hi Hania,
Thanks for your time and your history lesson. You're right about the century.

They lived in a house close to the woods, far from the village. I do not know their given names. But I know that they had 3 sons, Alexander, Maxim and Nahum. Alexander had 4 sons, Demetry, Anthony, Phillip and Gregory, Anthony was my GGranfather.I Know he married Paraska (or Parasquevia) Krawchuk.

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Cris,

Was Anthony, the one who emigrated? Where did he settle upon immigration?

Hannia,

Not, Miguel (or Michal) was the one who emigrated to Argentina, to Moises Ville, Santa Fe province. Why?

Because those immigration records should provide you w/exact place of origin.

At the turn of the century Volodymyr Volynskij was not a village, but a town w/about 20 thousand people living there. In order for you to successfully research your ancestors, you will need the exact name of the village in the Volodymyr Volinskij District. Those records can generally be found in the country of immigration.

Hannia,

I know where my Granfather came from, (the village's name was Kapitulka) but what I'm looking for is my GGGranfather, the one that appeared in 1800 to this Zscsylecki family.

Thanks for your help!
Cristina
