Your Lemko relatives underwent heavy Polonization pressures. They buckled under these pressures and they are now assimilated. No one is surprised that your Lemko relatives speak Polish and not LEMKO. This was the intent of the Polish government after WW2, and from what I read, still is.

No one here is saying that Lemko language is Ukrainian, but according to ethnolinguists it is certainly a dialect that is closer to Ukrainian than to Polish. The original Alphabet used by Lemkos was Cyrillic, not Latin. The Latin transliteration of Lemko language became official when Poland was partitioned and the Austro-Hungary Empire became the ruling entity.

The Rusyn migrated thru the Carpathian Mountains to the area that is Poland today. The educated anthropological guess is this migration took place over a period of 200 yrs. Ethnicity consisted of Hutsul (directly linked to Trypillian and Kievan Rus cultures) & Vlach (Romanian & Southern Slavic) mix. As of the 14th century, they were NOTATED as already having settled in what is Poland today and being Christian Orthodox.

u didnt read the facts but come with fantasys.....they speak polish cause they where moved by rusky commie goverment orders....u think poland could take own initative after ww2? commie time not like west.....and they spoke Lemko not ukrainian...

white croats and polane wheere west slavs polish tribes....
they use crylic cause it was methodos and cryl who invent it not kievan rus, so then poland is from roman empire origin just cause latin script and sweden also roman origin? so serbians and bulgarians also are from kievan rus? learn this methodos and cryl where greek/slavs who lived in north greece thessaloniki where slavs came in 400 century so slavs and greeks where bilingual in this area.....u dont like facts cause they against ure ukraine nationalist views.....lemkos area never under kievan rus....so slovakias lemkos also from kievan rus? u need to look at the map u even to afraid to look at it against ure propaganda belif...listen to this POLANE does this sound like ukraine? and WHITE Croats was in south poland with krakow capital.....

AND IF U WANNA TALK REAL ETHNIC CLENSING GO TO VOLHNYIA HOW MANY POLES LEFT? THERE WAS 300.000 100.000 SLAUGTHERD 200.000 TO POLAND OR SIBERIA,KAZAKSTAN...Lemkos get to live..thats most important....and the killings off poles wasnt only commie orders but initiative from local nkvd and uke rasists....
