same name?
well,, yachimirski? mine is yakimicki (jachimicha),, outside of the R in your name, I can't say that it would be far fetched for our last names to be one in the same. anyone have any opinions on that? If you look at the thread that is labeled 'Mykola Jachimicha' you'll see what one of these folks thought the last name may mean. the yachim part = "joachim" as in the name,,, the rest, 'belonging to'.....

We probably are related in some form or another! There are quite a few variations of the name, I've noticed.
Hannia: I found that information on my family. The original Yachimirskis were of Russian nationality and lived in a village close to Kemenets-Podolsk (probably for some sort of military purpose, as most of the men in the line were in the Russian army). My great-grandmother, maiden-name was Procyk (pronounced Prochook) was of Ukrainian nationality and also lived in a village near Kemenets-Podolsk. I couldn't read Stefen's brothers' names because they got messed up in the photocopier. I don't know much about any other members of my family besides this. |
