Finally after many years of research I can find the exactly place where my grandparents came.
But now, and because I'm living so far away to there I want to know if it's possible find a directory with names and addresses to know if I have relatives there. Lvov region Peremyshlyany selo Pydgorodyshche Is it possible to find ONLINE WHITE PAGES to serach the surnames of peoples that live in there? Thanks Ann |

Ukraine is predominantly a non-digitized world. There are still many in both the villages and cities w/out telephones. It is probably best to contact the village mayor re any surviving relatives still residing in village. Communicating in Ukrainian would be most effective.
Head of Village Council selo Pidhorodyshche Peremyshlyanskij Raion UA 81214 PS> Vitalij, one of our more knowledgeable members, has family in the immediate area. Consider asking him for help w/correspondence translation and/or physical search for family in village. E-Mail = Vitaliy vivandr@brandeis.edu |

Hannia, thanks but I am definitely not more knowledgeable in the area of genealogy. Most of my knowledge about it I obtained here, at this board and some other boards and web pages. Just two years before I was clueless about it. Probably I may have slightly better information on current situation in Ukraine as I have been living there practically all my life, but that’s it.
As far as I know there are currently no online White pages for Lviv region. Available are only phones for the Lviv city. Last year there was such a page, but it was disabled. Phones are still considered luxury mainly not because of the cost, but because of unavailability of new phone stations and lines. But situation is changing rapidly. You may send me the surnames your are interested in, and I will ask my friend in Lviv to look at phone book for region and find out if there are people with these surnames. Hello Mark,
Thank you for joining our little group. ________________________________________________________________________ Ann, Mark has made an excellent suggestion. LDS/Mormon Genealogy Library has family research centers across South America. Most of these church records records predate 20th century, but it would certainly be interesting to collect that older history as well. Thanks
Dear Mark and Annia,
The help that gave me Vitality was really great, and I appreciate so much yours too. I wrote to Ukranian archives to get a copy of some records. When they answer me I'll try your suggestions. I'm so close to find all the things and I need say thanks one and one time to all of you. Regards Ann |
