I have recently acquired a new Galician Gazetteer.

Turn of the century, Podhorodyszcze> Administrative & Judicial District was Bobrka. The Roman Catholic Church was in Bobrka and the Greek Catholic Church was in Romanow/Romaniv. The Jewish Kahal was in Mikolajow/Mykolajiv.

It is in those village religious records that metrykal data for Podhorodyszcze/Pidhorodyshche residents can be found.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a Gazeteer and are they available for other locations?
Also curious, Hannia, if you don't find this rude, I am wondering about your background. Are you a professional genealogist? Are you from Ukraine? I hope you don't mind my asking. I have been impressed with how informative you are and how generous in your sharing.
