I'm an undergraduate student in the States, looking for information on my family history.
While my grandfather, Mykola Pawlenko, was born in Czechoslovakia in 1923, I know that his father, Ivan Omelianowitsch Pawlenko, and his wife Fatima, left the Ukraine sometime before. I also know that he was a general in the cavalry and a graduate of the Imperial Cavalry School in St. Petersburg, Russia. Beyond that things are a bit fuzzy. I would greatly appreciate any information that anyone has. |

Hello Petra,
Unfortunately there is not very much specific data re Russian Expats online. I am aware of one org that has successfully been able to obtain records from St. Petersburg and Moscow Archives. BLITZ - Genealogy Search Order Form http://feefhs.org/blitz/blitzgof.html Contacting the Moscow & St. Petersburg Archives ON YOUR OWN can prove to be very expensive. I do not suggest it!!! ________________________________________________________________________ General Links of Interest: Russian Expatriots (Russ Expats) Links, or the White Russians Abroad Page (W.R.A.P.) - Zdrastvuyte! Welcome to My White Russi.. http://www.maxpages.com/russexpats/ PS> I will continue looking around to see what else I can dig up to help you. |

Hi Petra,
I'm your Aunt Natalie. I'd like to get in touch with you. My info is online - natalielamping.com Your grandfather was born in 1922, not 1923. He met your grandmother in Germany, where they got married and I was born. Hope to hear from you soon. Natalie |
