My grandfather was born in Felso Domonya, Hungary, (now Onokovce)in 1876. I have been researching information on him and his family for what seems like an eternity. I have been waiting for a reply from State archives in UZHGOROD since July 21, 2003.

The State Archives in UZHGOROD is not the place w/answers for you !!!

You need the illusive STATE ARCHIVES OF THE ZAKARPATSKA REGION in Berehove. This is where the records (for up until 1946), when area was under domain of other countries than Ukraine, are kept. You are looking for records in this area, when it was Hungary>Austro Hungarian Empire.


You need to get in touch w/Louis Schonfeld, who has some good connections @Berehove. Carefully read thru thread below (both pages 1&2).
