Tracing my name Dishlin

I was trying to track down the email for Anna Reid who did extensive work in Russian studies. I am trying to track my Grandfather down, who died long before I was born. His last name was changed to Dishlin when he arrived in the USA before coming to Nova Scotia, Canada. I know he was an Orthodox Jew and his name was derived from a name like Dushka. We were told he hailed from Kiev, but I found info that said Kerston I think it was. Any info would be great. Thank you.
