Freedom1,
We have a similar family background. My mother is French Canadian! Interesting, eh? I would like to ask you a few private questions. If you like, please e-mail: Cossackair@yahoo.com

Just to let you know, Vitaliy is in Ukraine at this time. He may not respond to your email as he will have to go to the internet cafe or a University to have access. It would certainly be worth a try though, since he is there he may be able to ask around for you. Good luck.

Hi Freedom,
I don't know anything about Styri, but there are probably Internet cafe's in Ivano Franvosk and I believe there is a university there. Many of the small villages are pretty backward, many do not even have phones. I know that Vitaliy was going to L'viv and Kiev during his trip. He has a friend in L'viv who did some research for me. I was pleased. I have a friend here who is from Ivano Franvosk and she has family there. I sent her an email asking if maybe someone there would be interested in work. I set a dollar limit that I was willing to spend ( US dollars) and had the researcher stay in that limit. My thread on the geneology board is under Staruszkiewicz, Leninska, etx. By the way I have enjoyed your posts on the other subjects but do not respond as I get too emotional and then don't make sense. Where do you live?. You can email me at kimmyjoe@hotmail.com. |

millgirl, you are not alone in getting too emotional here. It seems to be a rather common affliction, and can, if not tempered by tolerance, and the desire for truth, make an utter mess of any real discussions. Nevertheless, let the responses roll.
Suppose I have the benefit of some life experience and many years of practicing keeping a very steady head about me ( requirement of my profession where emotions are an anathma to precise decision making ). Thank you for your kind interest. Ya, I have this mental image of Tysiv being a very, very small "thatched roof" celo. A phone? Maybe? I know I come from pure peasant stock. Someday when my sons are old enough, I think a visit is appropriate.Oh, and since a few have asked, I dont put my email address out here only because I'm having issues with spam now and dont want any more "crawlers" ID'ing me. I have no issue with personal emails though.

RED STAR ALERT!
Hannia, yes I ran a MapQuest, and although Tysij appeard in the search header, no town name on the map, just a RED STAR!
![]() Remember, I am a democratic/capitalist pig! Even the red stars on Heinekin labels freak me out! ![]() Again, you've been too kind. THNX! think it would be very cool to rent a motorbike and cruise around there. Probably beautiful countryside ? Dangerous?
