село/ selo=village Plebanivka (Плебанівка) > Terbovlyanskij raion/district > Ternopilska oblast/region > Ukraine.
Population 1,152 people.

Although Plebanivka was officially founded on the Hnizna River in 1425, some recent archeological digs
indicate that humans were here in the Mesolithic Period -Middle Stone Age. This was appx 12,000 yrs
ago, when humans were transitioning from food gathering to food raising. There was also some
Kyivan Rus weaponry (9th century) found nearby.

From late 18th century to 1919 wies / village Plebanowka was hamlet size.
The filial Greek Catholic Church was in Trembowla (later became Terbovlya)
and the filial Roman Catholic Church was in Trembowla and Iwanowka.
Trembowla was also both the POWIAT (administrative district-county) and
the GMINA (judicial-tax district) > Tarnipolskie wojiwodstwo/region > Galicia/
Halyczyna Province, administered by ethnic Poles for then Austro-Hungarian
Empire. From 1919-1938 this region came under Reconstituted Poland's domain.
Technically Poland had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125 yrs.
All previous names are Polish usage. Post WW2 the Ternopilska region became
a part of SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain, until 1991 when Ukraine became independent.

the Village Administration re any surviving family still residing in the village.
At the local level communicating in Ukrainian is ideal. If you rather use a
local, consider hiring someone like IreneLviv, a member here, w/exp,
access to camera and computer. She could perform the research, make a trip
to your ancestral village and make some personal inquiries for you.

THEN CONSIDER MAKING A TRIP TO UKRAINE. Some bring a little home soil back
to sprinkle on their immigrant ancestor's grave. One member actually brought
his father's shoes and used those for walking in Ukraine. His father had passed
away before having the optie of going back. Most from the Diaspora that have
been, come home with a fuller heart.
