Hi Verushka,
thanks for your reply. Yes, Melnyk is very common surname in Ukraine, and it turned out that in the Ukrainian diaspora in US it is also. The Melnyks that I am searching were settled in Philadelphia. I found with the help of Hania few Melnyks in Phila that could be the people I am searching, and wrote them letters describing Parania Melnyk. Only two of them responded and they are not the relatives of Parania. Thanks, Vitaliy |

Melnyk
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception would have been your best bet but with regards to the priest in all of these churches they have changed at least 3 times since I was born in 1970 so I doubt any one would remember her unless it was family. Their are 4 Melnyks in the Philadelphia white pages but I won't post their names and numbers here. Contact me alexandrakorchagin@yahoo.com

Hi LemLemkom,
Thanks very much for you reply. I do have access to White book, and I contacted people indicated there one year and a half before. But unfortunately non of them are related to the person I was searching. The difficult thing here is that she had two daughters, and they certainly are under different surname, and their childrens could even not know the mother's maiden name. And her son it seems died during WWII. So case is rather complicated and I currently gave up. Vitaliy |
