hi Hannia ..have been reading other notices and came upon one discussing name changes and reasons..... my father did tell me that the name ontschulenko i grew up with was not as it should be.... firstly when he ended up in austria during or after the war the letters t, s, h and k were added as the austrian family he was living with could not spell his name......he also says there was the letter i in his name origionally ..i came up with onculinco ? onciul was a name sent me by a user of another site hes says it the name of a noble wealthy bukovina family in what was roumania...father always said he was roumanian....
the trouble is hannia that as others have said there is a shroud of secrecy about the pasts of some of our parents etc..... this to me makes me all the more determined to find my lost family still living in the area......with your help and the help of sites such as this i am sure i will find them one day.
thanks for your time
bev
