I am at a total loss. I am trying to help my son-in-law trace his family but everything seems to be a mystery. The family dosen't talk much about their relatives. No one seems to know about the main person in this inquiry. The spelling of his last name seems to be a tough one. Some say it is exactly like it was when he came to America...Some say it was spelled different on the ship. Here's what I have...His name was Onfry Boshonek. He came to New York via Ellis Island in 1914.He was born in Austria but the family says he was Ukrainian(Galicia). He was born January 31,1893 and his fathers name is said to be Jack.Onfry had 4 or 5 sisters in the Ukraine he use to write letters to.In the 1920 census he and his wife,Mary Kotune(? on the spelling) were boarding with a Mike Catrik and family, also from Ukrainia.Mary was said to either live in the same town or close to where Onfry was from. I have NO IDEA how the name BOSHONEK was or should be spelled. Can anyone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me on this. Some say it was pronounced Boo-hon-ick.I am willing to pay for any information on this family.I don't know what else to do.I am new to the research conquest but I promised to help my son-in-law and my grandson.
