Teodor/Theodore(anglicized) Chmilar from Belyavtsy or Konyushkiv> Brodivskij Raion/District> Lvivska Oblast/Region/State>Ukraine?

Took a quick look at Ellis Island to get an idea from where, in Ukraine/then Austro-Hungarian Empire/Galicia, other Chmilar's haled.

Found several Chmilar families immigrating (1899) thru Ellis Island, heading for Winnipeg. Families list themselves from Bielowice/Belyavtsy, in Brody Adm District. Could these be same family?
Could very well be same family, different branch?

Took a closer look at geography.

Brody, Administrative District Town (50.05 - 25.09)
Belyavtsy, village in Brody District (50.10 - 25.06) 6.2 miles NNW of Brody
Konyushkiv, village in Brody District (50.08 - 25.07) 3.8 miles NNW of Brody and about 3 miles away from Belyavtsy.

Used Shtetlseeker to ascertain locations above.

Printable fairly current maps.

Since you have birth places/dates for both Great Great Grandparents, your next step is an archival search.

THERE IS NO PREPAYMENT FOR ARCHIVAL SEARCH!!!

I am including new zip code and e-mail address for the Lviv Archives.

The following link is a gd read thru for some general info. Although the site suggests writing in Ukrainian, English works as well. Make your inquiry as simple as you can. I also strongly recommend including 2 IRC's with your inquiry. Given the economic situation in Ukraine, the Intl Response Coupon, which can be purchased at your local post ofc, will help expedite response from archives. Will keep you off the wait list. Average cost per surname search runs about $50 American, contingent on how complex.

This site does need a lot of updating.
MAIN UKRAINIAN ARCHIVES' ADDRESSES
http://lemko.org/genealogy/oblasts.html

After you get a response from the archives, which will include a list of siblings, write a letter of inquiry to the village mayor re any surviving relatives. And don't forget to include IRC's here as well.

Address to village mayor.

Brodivskij Raion

PS> Need to get exact zip code for you for village mayor letter.

There are church records available for Belyavtsy (which could be any of these listed villages Bilawyczi/Biliawyczi/Biliwci/Biliawci) thru LDS/Mormon Genealogical Library. Records for Konyushkiv also available. These are Greek Catholic Records and you will need a knowledge of Cyrillic to work thru them.
These church records probably predate the time frame you are researching. Submit your archival inquiry first and use these church records to backtrack as many generations as you can. You might get lucky and be able to track family back to 17th century.
