Did Mary and Jacob immigrate to Canada? What part of Canada? Try to figure out approximately when they might have immigrated by using Mother's age. Was she the eldest?

Where was Mother born?

What religion is your Mother? Maternal Grandparents would most likely be same religion.

Most immigrants settled in areas where there were others from same area in old country.

Where did your parents marry? Did they have religious service?

It is best to start with what you know for sure. Start with putting as much documentation about parents as you can. Religious documentation is very valuable. Somewhere in there you might find the link which will lead you to Grandparents backgd.

It might be worth your while to go back to the posts in 2001 and see what you can find.

Thanks. I had done the same thing with out success.
Kept on reading old posts & found a discussion about how surnames were changed. I think the orginal email was in there & the lady gave an email address with "kippen" in it. Have tried to contact.
