Dzień dobry.
Szukam wszelkich informacji o moim pradziadku. Stefan Turkiewicz urodził się w Baniłowie w 1892 roku. Jego rodzicami byli Demian Turkiewicz i Tatatiana. W powiecie Czerniowieckim na Bukowinie były 3 wsie o tej nazwie. Stefan Turkiewicz żył w jednej z nich przed 1917 rokiem, potem wyjechał do Kijowa (Kijów), gdzie wziął ślub z Rozalia Dombrowski. Po 1920 zamieszkali we wschodnio-południowej Polsce.
Bedę wdzięczny za wszelkie informacje i dokumenty (akty ślubu, zgonu i małżeństw i inne) Stefana Turkiewicza a także jego ojca Demiana i pozostałych przodków.
Serdecznie pozdrawiam
Ola Turkiewicz / Warszawa / Polska

Hello Ola,

Metrical books (church registers of births, marriages and deaths) for several Bukovyna villages are available on microfilm from the Family History Centre of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).

There are three (3) possible Banyliv locations in the Chernivets'ka oblast. If you do not know precisely which village and raion your ancestors originate, I would suggest that you order the microfilm number that would contain birth records for the year 1892. Repeat this for each of the locations below, until you find the microfilm that contains your great-grandfather's birth record.

The following links contain more information on the contents of the Banyliv microfilms.

1. Banyliv, Vyzhnytsia raion: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/1026247

2. Sloboda-Banyliv, Vyzhnytsia raion: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/1026390

3. Banyliv Pidhirnyi, Storozhynets raion: https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/1026403

The microfilms are available for viewing at a nominal rental -- about USD $8.00 per reel for a 90-day loan period, or USD $16.00 per reel for an indefinite loan period.

1. To locate a Family History Centre in the city and country near you, visit: https://www.familysearch.org/locations.

2. Telephone your centre to inquire about ordering the microfilms. Some locations will let you place an order by phone or by visit, while other locations will ask you to order online.

3. If you are ordering online, register for a Family Search account at: https://ident.familysearch.org/cis-w...istration.html. Then, place your order online at: https://familysearch.org/films/.

4. When your order has been delivered, your centre will contact you. When you visit your centre to view the microfilms, bring a USB drive or digital camera with you so that you can get copies of the images. The centre will hold the microfilms at the centre until you are finished, or until the rental period has expired.

Wishing you success in your ancestral search!

Regards,

Richard

Hello Richard.
Thank you for the information.
I checked Family Search Centre base some weeks ago.
In - catalogue on Mormon's web site no marriage records before 1899 and birth records in the years 1882-1900. My great-grandfather was born in 1892, and his parents were married a few years earlier. Just the records missing! :(
Best Regards,
Ola

Hello Ola,

So, are you now certain that your great-grandfather was from ̦-Ǧ (Banyliv-Pidhirnyi), or have I misunderstood something?

Richard
