Searching for Grandfather PIATAK-WEGIER

Searching for Grandfather Joseph Piatak, (Piatak may have a different spelling) He came to US & listed his last place of residence was Starzawa. He also stated he left a sTEP Father Michal wegier. His mothers name was Ewa. He also may have come from Moscika, possible district of Przemysl Stobno area. Some names of his friends were: Bunio, Kostyk, Pich, Spodaryk. Have been searching for years, hoping some one can help. Thanks.

These names (Bunio, Pich, Spodaryk, Kostyk) really come from Staryava.

Genealogical information is the best search in metric books. It recorded birth, marriage and death. According to the Greek Catholic metrics Staryava lived here Michael Wegner (not Wegier). His wife name Eva / Evdokia Yatsula. They lived in Staryava in house number 128 and had children: Ivan (1878-1878), Stephan (1880), Maria (1882-1887), Anna (1884), Catherina (1888). May have been others.

Note, in Staryava no names Piatak. There is a similar name Petyk.

Maybe Eva Yatsula first married Piatak, subsequently Michael Wenger?

My grandfather (surname Yatsula) and grandmother (Hladka) also come from Staryava. In 1930 they (along with other relatives) moved in the Ternopil region.
