My understanding of the archives is that they will not "trace" your tree for you. They will look up records if you know who you are looking for and approximate year of birth. A researcher in Ukraine is what you would need to trace your tree for you. I have hired one on two seperate occassions and was very satisfied. Of course, that is only if records exist. They are not at the state archives (or least they were not there when LDS filmed documents) however, the local registry offices may contain them. A local researcher would have "special" access to them. It does cost money however. If you would like to know more you can send me a private request through this site.

Perhaps someone else knows for sure if archives will trace your tree but I dont' think they don't.

The article about the archive office I emailed stated that they do have the ability to research on your behalf. It was a minimal cost. However this was not what I had requested. I was inquiring about obtaining baptismal, marriage and birth records for my family members that I have info for so I could trace back myself.

I am going to see my uncle tomorrow (thru marriage) and apparently he found a box that my late aunt had some family things in. Wish me luck that I hit the jackpot with some history.
