looking for any info on Vasyl Golub

Hello all,
I am looking for any information on my grandmother's brother, Vasyl Golub (Holub), born in 1922 in the village Lany, Stanislaviv region (Ivano-Frankivsk). His parents were Hryhoriy and Paraska. All the family knows is that he studied in Prague for a while, joined Galicia Division and then he vanished. He said that if he goes abroad, he will never contact the family not to harm them. He could have been killed by Soviets, but we still hope that he somehow managed to go abroad. So if anyone knows anything or if there are any Holubs in the USA or Canada, please, write me.

There are still indivduals by the name of Golub (Голуб) living in Lany (Лани). One of them listed, is a widow, Ksenia, born 1918.

just to make sure - I am not looking for relatives in Ukraine, I am looking for what happened to my grandmother's brother. Yes, I saw all the lists, looked in any language, but nothing for sure tells me his destiny. That Vasyl Holub could be him, but how how do I know for sure - birth date is not listed, etc.
