Question Looking For Stefiuk in Ukraine

As mentioned in my first post, I am looking for help in finding my Ukrainian relatives in the Kitzman region of Ukraine.

The furthest back I can go is my GG grandfather, Teodor Stefiuk. His wife was Constantin Unknown and I think I can safely assume they were from Kitzman as that is where their son, Teofil, was born on March 13, 1869. BTW, I have never seen the name Stefiuk spelled any other way.

Teofil married Nastashia Unknown in Ukraine and they had 2 children that I know of: Emilion (Mike) Stefiuk and his sister Helen. Emilion was my grandfather. Now, I have discovered that at the time Emilion was born, the Kitzman area as under Austrian rule and my grandfather’s nationality is shown to be Austrian, although I am sure he was of Ukrainian ethnicity.

I know that Teofil and Nastashia came to Canada by boat in 1902 with, for sure, my grandfather. I am not sure where or when his sister was born but I have people I can ask about that. However, there is not much else to go on.

Is there anyone out there who may have some information on the Stefiuk family back in the Ukraine? My aunt and I want to make a trip back there to find our long-lost relatives but we need a new clue to get us going. The name of their village would help immensely as I understand Kitzman is more of a district or area than of a village/town.

I would truly appreciate any help you can provide. Thanks in advance. If you have any information, you could send it to me at Jeanne_rucker@hotmail.com.
