Sarra, you will not get any real help here. I have stopped posting in forum, but I see that your search is not being treated seriously. Some even think it is funny. I am making an exception in your case, because I do not think it is funny.
___________________________________________ Town Niemerow > Rawa Ruska county > Lwow region > Reconstituted Poland (1919-1938), today Nemyriv > Yavoriv county > Lviv region > Ukraine STILL EXISTS, but with about a third of the population of what it was. In appx 1942 the Nazis sent 800 Niemerow (official Polish spelling) Jews to the Rawa Ruska ghetto. Shortly afterwards many of those were executed and any survivors were sent to the Belzec (Final Solution Death Camp). Any Niemerow Jews not sent to Rawa Ruska, were sent to Lubaczow. There the same action was taken . Whoever survived executions, was sent to Belzec.*** You should be researching Niemerow, Rawa Ruska, Lubaczow and Belzec. Following are the two places where you should be making your inquiries: This organization might be helpful in providing information regarding emigration from Niemerow to Israel late 1920's and WW2 data. They will also have information re Niemerow shtetl. Jewish Historical Institute ul. Tlomackie 3/5 Warszawa 00-090, Poland Tel: 48/22/827-92-21; Fax: 48/22/827-8372 e-mail: secretary@jewishinstitute.org.pl ¯ydowski Instytut Historyczny**Home Here they may be able to tell you where you can find Jewish metrykal data for Niemerow. The only records in Lviv Archives provide only government structure of the Jewish kahal there, so you will have to look in Poland. Urzad Stanu Cywilnego w m. st. Warszawie Archiwum ul. Smyczkowa 14 Warszawa 02-678 Poland Tel: 48/22/847-4821; Fax: 48/22/847-6062 ____________________________________ *** From late 18th century to 1919 town Niemerow (founded in appx 16th century) was a major trading center. Rawa Ruska was the powiat (administrative district - county) and Niemerow was the gmina (judicial/tax district) This was Lemberg/Lwow/Lviv region > Historic GALICIA PROVINCE, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire (Hapsburg Emperors). During this time frame, Poland did not technically exist as a geopolitical entity. Any emigrants during this time frame would have Austrian documents. __________________________________ Hopefully information above will steer you in the right direction. BON CHANCE, SARRA.

You have just done something many here have missed. You made this forum interesting again if only for a short spell. If you ever feel like having a go at someone please feel free and have a go at me. Unlike others I dont mind, it will just go in one ear and out the other. Where on earth do you get all your info from? |
