TRYNCHUK Family + Reading/Translating A Canadian Census Page

I'm searching for the Trynchuk family that emigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in about 1901 (moving to the Two Hills, Alberta area shortly thereafter).

An obituary says they came from "Nebeliw, Ukraine" (where is that)?

I believe this may be the family in the 1911 census (lines 31-38)

The transcriber lists the names as follows:

Any suggestions on what the names with question marks are supposed to be?

I'm guessing the Englishified versions of Michylo and Maria are Michael and Mary, What are the English equivalents of the other names?

Any suggestions on what spellings I should use to search the 1906 census?

Nebyliw, or Nebyliv is in Ivano-Frankivsk on the Limnitsia River in western Ukraine. My grandmother came from the same town. Two Hills, Alberta is relatively close to where I live. I currently have the church records on loan at the LDS family history library and next time I get a chance to get over and look at them I can check that name. If you search Live Search maps or Google maps you can find Nebyliw.

As luck would have it I checked some of the church records from Nebyliw that I copied and there was one mention of the Trynchuk name in a birth record from June 26 1865. I copied it because my family name was on the same page. I'm no expert at reading these but clearly the child was named Joannes and below his name you can see the name Anna Trynczuk, I don't know why all the birth records in these films have a name below the child's name like that, I don't think it's a parent because the parent's names are next, or below here as I photographed the record in two sections. So the father is Michael Matusko(?) and the rest I can't clearly read. In the last column are the witnessess or godparents (?) to the baptism - Stephanius Czizceryk(??) and Magdelena Luniw, I think. Perhaps this baptism is one of your ancestors, perhaps not. I notice in these church records some of the names are repeated a lot as there would have been large extended families in this village.
In the census record you have there I can see the name can be Trenczuk, the first letter looked like a T to me. In the second name, the first name sounds like my grandmother's name Eudokia, or Eudoxia (several spellings), which is a very common name in these church records. Jirko, or Yurko means George which was also my grandfather's name.

Anna was the midwife. The records usually indicate who the midwife was.

There is also a really good genealogy book about Ukrainian Genealogy that not only tells you how to read church records, it also shows you the the various versions of the same name. Names recorded in the church records were the latin version of someone's name and not usually the name they would have been called. (IE a man called Vasyl in Ukraine would have his latin name in church records would be BASILIUS and his anglican name most like would have been William (Bill) after emmigrating. Latin name JOANNE would have been called Ivan (Iwan) and anglized to John. I have to go digging for the book. It is buried in boxes as we are currently doing renovations. I have mentioned it here before on the forum. I will see if I can find the info.

I found the book. It is: Ukrainian Genealogy: A Beginner’s Guide, by John D. Pihach It has been an invaluable resource for me. I ordered it through the University of Alberta and paid about $50. You could try amazon etc. Not sure where else you could get it.

My best interpetation is, Joanne, son of Michael Mortusko and Anastasia, daughter of Basilius Czerpak and Maria Cziczeryk (??? - having a hard time with that name) Not sure what the other words after her name.

Stephanus and Magedlena would be godparents.
