Hi , I haven't been on this site for a while. I hate asking a personal question, but what happened to Hannia? She was such a wealth of information.

I miss her too. And Irene as well. They helped to connect many people with their Ukrainian families, myself included.

Hannia has posted as recently as Sept 21 on Ukraine Genealogy Forum --

at least it appears to be her writing style!

Hannia left the forum because of a PM she received from me.

As moderator, I address the concerns of all members. Hannia is very passionate about her views on Ukraine, and its politics. Unfortunately, that meant at times, she trampled the feelings of some posters, who asked me to delete their posts and erase their accounts on this forum after particularly nasty flare ups. A few were long time posters, one of whom felt Hannia had attacked his marriage and his spouse. Those posts have all been deleted. Hannia was asked to consider this after a subsequent post of similar passion, and her conclusion appears to be to have left the forum. Irene and Victor, who do paid work and are tied to Hannia, also left.

It is unfortunate that I may have angered Hannia, or hurt her feelings, and it is unfortunate for those of you searching for your roots. I believe Hannia added a great deal to this forum, not only in genealogy, but in the entire forum. However, as an unbiased observer, I need to address the concerns of all members of the forum without playing favourites.

Whatever you said to Hannia there is no doubt that since she left, along with Irene and Victor this Forum is not as interesting as it used to be and it seems that far fewer people have been helped finding their long lost families. I for one am extremely grateful for the help Hannia and especially Irene gave me 3 years ago. something I will never forget. There must be more people on this forum who think the same as me.
