You will have to give a bit more information than that. Do you know where he was born (village/city)? Is he still in Ukraine? Did he emmigrate? Where to? When? Parents names (if known)? Siblings? Wife? Etc? Some background info is always helpful.

Miron Zukowski

Thanks Jiggy for your response.
I will attach what information that I have.
He was born on 10/04/1925 in Tauruw or Tauruf in Ukraine according to his prison files.
He was a prisoner number 2540/47 in Ludwigsburg in 1947/48.
On 17/03/1948 he applied to be repatriated to Ukraine.
I have a copy of a document of transfer from Ludwigsburg prison dated 9/6/48 signed by the officer in charge but it does not say where he went.
The last contact my mother had with my father was a letter from him dated 24/05/1948 asking her to visit him .
My mother went to visit him in June 1948 and the prison officer would not tell her where he was only that he was no longer in that prison.
This is as far as I have been able to get.

Val,

Germans kept good records. I am not an expert on this subject but you should be able to get more info. Here is a snippet I copied from another post here on the forum:

Contact the Bad Arolsen Archives. These archives will provide you w/details of his exact experience in Germany, and other personal details as well. Inquiry by immediate family is available for free. All you need to provide is his full name and any other spelling variants and his exact birth date or as exact as you have it.
Do not provide more info than that !!! Your inquiry can be done by e-mail. I understand the archives have upgraded their service and response can be received via e-mail as well. Response can take as little as three days or as much as three months.

Upon accessing site click HUMANITARIAN REQUESTS. Follow instructions.

I believe you could find the info you are looking for. If you search on this site for Bad Arolsen, displaced persons etc you will find more posts in the genaolgy section on this very subject. I have read many times here at this forum of people finding and reciving info from this organization. It may take a few months but you will get a response.

Sandra
