Looking for info on Nikituk family

Hello there; I'm brand new to this forum, and I'm trying to push my family history back a bit...my grandfather Ecedor Nikituk emigrated to America in 1912. His application for a Social Security card gives his hometown as "Koretze, Poland"--I assume this would be modern Korets, Volhynia, Ukraine? Would anybody know anything about the town, or church records pertaining to it? If there are living relatives still in the area, I'd love to find them. Thanks!

The church records on Korets can be found in Rivne State Archives:
State Archives of Rivne Oblast

You can write an e-mail to inquire on the information concerning your grandfather. Make sure you tell them what religion he practiced. If he was catholic some records can be found in Lutsk State Archives:
State Archives of Volyn Oblast

Korets is the regional center in Rivne Oblast (province). The population is about 8 500 people and there still are some Nikitiuks living there:

It's a beautiful ancient town founded in 1150 famous for its Holy Trinity Nunnery and many other landmarks.
