I'd recommend you contacting Igor Voronchak (voronchak@ukr.net) - he's also from same (Borshchiv) area - and did number of researches there.

Yes R.J, Ihor will be most effective in helping you find this information.

Quick question, are you 100% positive that your father came to Canada in 1902? There is a record to be found in the Hamburg Passenger Lists that has a Prokop Buczok Departing Hamburg April 9 1914 onboard Bulgaria. Estimated year of birth says 1882, and it says that he is from Krosnostawetz, Russland. Anyhow this is the closest result for a "Prokop Bozok" I could come across.

Anyhow, hope this helps in some way....if not I'm sure Ihor will be able to point you in the right direction.

Blessings,
Stephen

Dear Joe!
You have not received a response? I sent you e-mail as follows:

Dear Joe!
Sorry for late reply. I leave. I rested and did not have access to the Internet.
I have a metric Vovkivtsi book. In 1880 birth record Prokop Bozhok no. I wrote about it several years ago. Emphasize and now - nothing. This is an erroneous date or place of his birth.

You indicate that the Magdalene Zabijaka really born in Vovkivtsi July 27, 1889.
Her parents: Nicholas Zabijaka and Mary Kindzerska. Unfortunately, the metric books Vovkivtsi in poor condition, not all records saved. In particular there are no records of 1889. So check birth record Magdalene impossible.

Examining metrics showed that Vovkivtsi in house number two lived marriage Nicolaus Zabijaka (son of Paulus and Pelagia) and Maria Kindzerska (daughter Onuphrius and Ahafia Reszitnyk).
Parish register was conducted in Latin.
I believe that it is parents Magdalene. Check with your birth certificate Magdalene.
Nicholas and Maria were still following children:
- Anna - born September 21, 1882. In the birth record is the mark (†), which means that she died in childhood.
- Paraskeva - born May 25, 1884 - died April 23, 1887
- Stephen - born April 1, 1886 - died March 12, 1887
- May have been others. It is necessary to examine in detail.

Sends a record of the birth of these children. I am convinced that the names of their parents and Magdalene are the same.

Igor
