Seeking info on Huzar family

I am attempting to locate information on the family of Andrew (Andros) Huzar. He was born on 12 December 1892 in Domamorych, Ternopil. He emigrated to New York in 1907. He married Mary Myzchscyzn soon after arriving. I have no information on his ancestors and he came to America alone.

Officially Domamorycz (Домаморич) was founded on the banks of the Ruda River in 1642, although oral history has it existing as early as 13th century. The story goes that in 1241 Knyaz Rostyslav Chernihivskij was on his way to Halycz and had stopped in the Domamorycz Caves. Today no one seems to know where these caves were/are. The caves might have been dugout shelters for travelers which provided safety from highway robbers in that time frame.

From late 18th century to 1918 wies/village Domamorycz was hamlet size. The filial GC Church was in Dolzanka until 1910 when the GC Church, Assumption of the Blessed Mother of God***, was built in Domamorycz. Tarnapol was both the powiat (adm district-county) and gmina (judicial-tax district) > Galicia / Halyczyna Province, administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. During the Interwar Period (1919-1938) this region came under Reconstituted Poland's domain. Technically Poland had not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125+ yrs. Post WW2 this region became a part of SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain until 1991, when Ukraine became independent.

Today your ancestral selo/village Домаморич/Domamorych still exists w/a population of 640 individuals, several of which carry the surname Huzar. This is the Терноп╕льський р-н/Ternopilskij raion/district > Терноп╕льська область/Ternopilska region > Ukraine, latest zip code 47708.

1892 records are probably still in Ternopil Regional Archives. Ihor Voronchak, native Ternopil son, currently a scholar in Lviv, has thorough knowledge of these particular archives. His rates are very fair and he can visit the village for you, take pix and interview any surviving relatives. Several of our members will recommend him w/o any hesitation. He can fill in the gaps for you and then you can research the older records yourself. By Christmas you will be able to present your family w/a gift of heritage.

BTW there is a large size pond in selo Domamorych, where fishing for carp is considered the best to be had.
