Looking for Harkot
I am looking for family of Nikola Harkot who was born in the Ukraine in 1897. He left for Canada, sailing from Antwerp, Germany in June 11, 1913. He was going to live with his sister in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada.
He had a brother named Wasyl who also came to live in Moose Jaw. I have not been able to find any records of where in the Ukraine Nikola was from. |

Ruth, Culici is just a poor transliteration of Romanian name Culeuţi, but it is selo/village Kulivtsi> Zastavna district >Chernivtsi > historic Northern Bukovyna Province, Land of Beech Trees. Kulivtsi = ëÕ̦׿ in Ukrainian is famous for its beautiful landmarked monastery.
Again, you are right on the money. Congratulations, on another great job. Then you can make a stop near selo Babyn and visit the colony of very unique grey herons that have been migrating there for as long as anyone can remember. There are appx 100 nested pairs in the oaks trees on the Dniester River slopes. The colony is a monospecies and the visuals make for fabulous picture taking.
