I have stalled out in researching my relatives from the Rawa Rushka district form the town of Zaborze. I have the passenger list on the Ausonia 2. Their passport stamped at Danzig arriving in Quebec city in 1925. The relatives left behind in Poland I have no research findings for them. The surnames that I am looking for are the Stecuik's, Majak's, Kozaks and the Kobryn's.
We have no information where they migrated from into Poland or any leads passed the immigration records to Canada.
My great grandparents, Michael Majak and Catharina(Tatiana) Steciuk's baptismal records for their children are stamped Przemys'l.
My grandmother's lineage goes down through the Mykiety Kozak and Marji Kobyrn line. Marji was his second wife (Helen Novak) as his 1st wife died of typhoid fever.
Steciuk, Majak, Kozak, Kobryn from selo Zabirya
From late 18th century to 1918 wies/village Zaborze was a predominantly Ruthenian/Ukrainian village consisting of 164 houses and appx 956 residents, of which 846 were Ukrainian. Rawa-Russka was the POWIAT (administrative district-county) and Uhnow was the GMINA (judicial -tax district) Galicia/Halyczyna Province > administered by ethnic Poles for the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The filial Greek Catholic church was in Hujce and the filial Roman Catholic church was in Rzyczki and the Jewish Kahal was in Rawa-Russka. During the Interwar Period this region came under the domain of Reconstituted Poland, which had technically not existed as a geopolitical entity for the previous 125+ yrs. The county during this time was Zolkiew. Post WW2 this region became a part of the SSR Ukraine, under Soviet domain until 1991 when Ukraine became independent.. (The county became Nestoriv in 1951 and in 1991 it again became Zhovkiv.)
Today selo/village Zabirya > Zhovkivskij raion/district > Lvivska oblast/region > Ukraine, latest zip 8313. Population 1,311.
Your surnames do show up in selo/village Zabirya, but I cannot get the listing for Zabirya. Since many villagers have moved to the larger towns and cities for economic reasons, I tried Rava-Ruska and following is what I found:

LDS has filmed some very old GC Church records for your ancestral village. Please note that they come from the Historical Archives in Lviv.
Ask IrenLviv to help you w/researching your immediate families and have her fill in the gap between dob's of your immigrant ancestors and the records below. Her rates are very fair to our membership and she comes w/very high recommendations. The older records you might like to tackle on your own.

Certificates for the Majak, Kozak relatives
Here are the available certificates that we have to work from for the Majak's and Kozak's. I have old group photos from that era. I know my grandparents in the photos, but the rest of the group are unknown. I know that Andrzej Majak along with his brothers (Zmagko(Hnadko), Dimeitre, Ttamko(Panko) most likely served with the Polish army. Andrezej and Anastazia(Kozak) immigrated to Canada in 1927 (sorry I think I said 1925 earlier) he left the rest of his family back in Zaborze area.
Andrzej's parents are Michael Majak and Catharina Stiecuk, these would be my great grandparents; of this couple we know nothing of who they were as people or where they came from.
We would like to go much further back in history, but have nothing to work with.
Any help would be appreciated so much, as traveling over there to do research is not possible for me.
Continuing in my search for relatives. Today a new lead on a 2nd cousin Halyna (Majak) and her married name is a long shot here on the spelling- Prestcajz. I believe she had a son Evanco ,Helyna tried to immigrate to her married relatives in the Toronto Area, but I believe she was unsuccessful at this attempt. She could be between 60-70 years of age now.
The last know address for them was in Nauvkova, Lviv.
