I guess that was meant for me, my father is from village Male Siedliszcze about 15km E of Kostopol (see my posts in 'the lost village' for location), the nearest existing village is called Mala Lyubasha which is where he was baptized. He was taken forcibly by the Germans and was transported by train to work on a farm in Germany, then to dig trenches on the border with France at Mulheim. Then as a DP in various camps until he came to England.
My father says the same as yours about his happy childhood, and chastises Hitler for interrupting his education (in more colourful language of course).
