Hi Frangelica,

Thank you so much for your post and for agreeing to share this information with me. I am delighted to hear this news, and will email you shortly.

My original post stated that my g-grandmother's name was Anna Yakuchuk, but I confused that with my other g-grandmother that I'm researching. You're absolutely right - Anna's name was indeed Hnatiuk!

God bless you, Frangelica. It is people like you that make this forum such a success, and an excellent source for those researching their family history.

Kind regards,

Richard

Update

I’d like to share a quick update on my Marchuk family research.

I contacted Frances via e-mail on Saturday afternoon. By Sunday afternoon, I not only had additional vital statistics on my immigrant family, but information on other family members of whom we were previously unaware. With Frances’ tireless effort, I’m now able to add one more generation to the family tree – my great-great-grandparents, Nikolai Marchuk and Katrina Kosovan.

Now here’s the icing on the cake. Through the process, we discovered that Frances’ husband’s great-grandfather, Petro Puhaichuk, was godfather to my grandfather, Nikolai Marchuk! In my first e-mail to Frances, I wistfully stated that I wouldn’t be surprised if these Lukovytsia families somehow knew each other. This confirms that they did indeed!

I want to use this opportunity to publicly acknowledge and thank Frances and those of you who selflessly offer your time and assistance to others, generously sharing your knowledge and expertise. It is a fine example of community and collaboration that makes this forum a wealth of information for those researching their Ukrainian heritage.

Sincerely,

Richard
