I seek advice on how I can follow up the earliest record (1737) on our family name, which comes from a on-line history of Stryj:

'Братские школы давали неплохую подготовку для последующего образования, и некоторые стрыяне продолжали учебу в Киевской академии. Fraternal schools were good preparation for further education, and some stryyane continued his studies at the Kiev Academy. В 1737 году здесь в классе риторики занимались стрыяне Евстахий Зубрицкий и Григорий Сплавинский. In 1737 here in the class were engaged in rhetoric stryyane Eustace Zubritsky and Gregory Splavinsky.'

Our Polish family records only seem to start in the 19th century and have a Catholic rather than an Orthodox orientation!
