Zuko , Greek-Catholics in Slovakia are ethnic Ukrainians or Slovaks . Our languages are very close and we don’t need any translation when speaking. The name you gave is neither Ukrainian nor Slovakian for sure.
As for Hungarian it is very strange too. I think you made mistake when copied the name . Was it in Cyrillic or not ? |

Uniate (GC) Priests did much of the naming of children as per their religious calendar. Same applies to Christian Orthodox Religion. Children were baptized within 10 days of birth. If you know the appx date of birth or Baptism, that should help w/the given name. I took following off the Uniate Calendar of Saints: ´×ÓÅ×¦Ñ (July) ´ÚÅËɧÌÁ (Aug) ´ÒÍÏÌÁÑ ´×ÓÉÇÎ¦Ñ ´×ÐÌÁ ´×ÔÉÈÁ (Sept) ´×ÄÏËÓ¦Ñ ´×ÓÔÁÔ¦Ñ (Oct) ´ÒÏÔÅÑ (Dec ´×ÌÁÍÐ¦Ñ ´ÒÍÏÇÅÎÁ ´ÌÅ×ÔÅÒ¦Ñ ´×ÔÉÍ¦Ñ (Feb) ´×ÇÅÎ¦Ñ ´×ÐÓÉÈ¦Ñ (April) ´Ð¦ÆÁÎ¦Ñ (May) ´ÒÍ¦Ñ (June) ´ÌÉÓÅÑ PS> Above names are in Possessive Case - DAY OF. Endings in Nominative Case are slightly different.

Hello Zuko
Do you by any chance have the two names written on a document or are they spell from hearsay? If written down perhaps you could post a copy so that we could take a look at the writing. At first I thought the words were Latin in origin but can not find anything that looks reasonable. Tempo |
