Hello Karen,
Hello Karen,
Well my cousin flew into Budapest and from there took a train to Lviv to visit her grandfather's side of the family. She said the city is so beautiful. She was able to go to the Central State Historical Archives on Soborna Plaza to try and look up vital records of our ancestors but she didn't have enough time but she did put in a request for a search. Then she took an 8 hour bus ride south to the Ivano-Frankovisc (spelling?) to visit other people she knew. From there they all rented a car to drive to our ancestor's villages of Touste, Kat and Borki Male. She took a lot of pictures there. She saw the mill/granary our great grandfather had managed and worked. The pond is all dried up but the mill looks pretty good.
She said that the local roads are in rough shape so it took some time to travel......atm machines are far and few. She said for that 8 hour bus ride, eat or drink nothing as there are no bathrooms aboard...oh well.....
She said the trip overall was great and she would go back again. Marcia
