Irene and Paul.
Kiyevsky rayon = Kiyevo-Svyatoshinskij raion today. ??? How does this village strike you? As per mail zip code index, this is only one starting w/letters RUB. I have not gone thru every village in this district and see if there is a cluster village w/the name Rubynovka. Михайлівка-Ð*убежівка | Україна Інкогніта While I am checking for cluster villages, following are Chyzhky currently found in Kyiv (the capital) telephone directory: þÉÖÓØËÉÊ ÷ ¶ 2442402 îÉËÏÌØÓËÏ-âÏÔÁÎÉÞÅÓËÁÑ õÌ., Ä. 31, Ë. 35, Ë×. 24 þÉÖÓØËÁ ç ñ 4027541 âÕÌÇÁËÏ×Á õÌ., Ä. 8, Ë. , Ë×. 61 þÉÖÓËÁ î ï 5500875 ôÙÞÉÎÙ ð. ðÒ-ô, Ä. 14, Ë. á, Ë×. 116

Thanks again Hannia. I note your link takes me to Rubezhivka and its orthodox church - such churches are definitely relevant to my enquiry, having so many 'Czyzski/Chyzhky' involved in it! On a 1891 map the same Rubezhivka is spelt the Polish way as Rubiezewka (with a dot on the z). I have to keep this place in mind but I still prefer the other one, Rubanka. This is a subjective preference indeed.
Do we have as a member of this forum who is a resident from Kijv and who I can get in touch with to make phone calls on my behalf to these three Chyzhky residents? There would be a simple question to ask them: "do they know of a Jakob Chyzhky who was married to a Stanislawa 'Tarnogurska'; she was born in 1897 at Kozjatin, her father was in the railways. Jakob's father had a relatively high position in the orthodox church, he had many brothers and sisters who could all play a different musical instrument. When they played together it was like an orchestra." And if I hit the jackpot with one of them, then I would obviously like to communicate further with that family.... Well I am afraid that's all I can say about my grandfather. |

They do not coincide - Kyivsko-Sviat. rajon and Kyivsky ujezd.
Yes I came across this village when checking the village list for this rajon - only it did not draw my attention due to its double name - Probably you are right Hannia - Bravo! Here is a detailed history of the village: ÑÅËÎ ÌÈÕÀÉ˲ÂÊÀ-ÐÓÁÅƲÂÊÀ - ÑÅËÀ - Êèºâî-Ñâÿòîøèíñüêèé*ðàéîí*Êè¿âñüêî¿*îáëàñò³*2009 |
