Thanks Irene,
I don't have any village name except Kluwince in my documents, so if that is a village I would think it would be close to Kluwince. The villages mentioned in this thread are Peremyliv and Khopkivka. Could it be a old name of one of these villages? |

I think Mykhailo's name is Werbowecki and Maria's is surely Veres (Weres)
Where have you taken these records from? The name of the village must be written on the book - or a section of the book if it covers several villages? I have another version for deciphering this riturgrgii abracadabra: It is Ritus Graecus standing for Greek-Catholic rite - WHAT DO YOU THINK?? Last edited by IreneLviv; 28th August 2010 at 23:08. |

Hi Irene,
I think you are right about the Greek Catholic rite. I got the records from the FHL microfilm from the village of Kluwince. They were taken from the Greek Catholic records for that town. I am trying to track back from the record of Sophia as far as the records go, but I haven,t found Maxim or Theila(Thecia?) or anyone but Andrij. |

Theila(Thecia?) Hawryluk
I just came across this message. I am looking for the family of my grandmother, Teofila Hawryluk born in 1904, (her brother is Hrynko). She immigrated from Kamenka-Strumylova in 1927. She was to go to USA, but was redirected to Canada. She was the youngest in the family and had to sneek out through Poland. She sailed from Liverpool, England to Canada. Could she be the Theila(Thecia?) that you write about? Would appreciate any help with this.
